Porcelain veneers
Thin shells of porcelain, layered by hand by our ceramist and bonded to the front of the teeth. You try the new shape in temporary material first, so the final veneers only copy a smile you have already worn and approved.

What happens, and when.
- 01Design on a photoWe design the new shape on your photograph and agree the length, width and shade together.
- 02Try-inA thin temporary copy goes over your teeth for a week, so you can talk, eat and smile in it.
- 03PreparationA very light polish of the surface, often less than half a millimetre, and a precise scan.
- 04FittingThe porcelain is checked in your mouth, adjusted for colour and bonded one by one.

It suits
- Chipped, worn or uneven front teeth
- Stains that whitening cannot lift
- Small gaps or teeth that are slightly out of line
Good to know
- Porcelain does not stain, but the teeth around it can, so many patients whiten first
- Night guards protect veneers if you grind
- We usually treat the six to ten teeth that show when you smile
A real case
Veneers, upper six, 3 visits.

Worn, uneven front teeth replaced by six hand-layered porcelain veneers after a week in a try-in.
Questions
What people ask about Porcelain veneers.
Will veneers look fake?
Not when the shape and shade come from your face. Every veneer is layered by hand with small differences, like real teeth.
Is the preparation painful?
Most veneers need only a light polish, done under local anaesthetic. Patients describe it as less than a filling.
What if I do not like them?
That is why the try-in exists. Nothing is fixed until you have worn the shape and said yes.
